My grandfather’s hands were never still among the coffee rows. “The tree tells you when it’s ready,” he’d say. “Not the calendar, not the buyer. The tree. So we listen.”
I was seven when he first placed a handful of ripe cherries in my palm — deep red, still warm from the mountain sun. I remember thinking they looked like something you shouldn’t be allowed to touch. Instead, he closed my fingers around them and smiled.
That’s the feeling I want to give you — that feeling of being trusted with something precious.
When Coffee Verse asked me to be part of this, I said yes because they understood something most don’t: that coffee isn’t a product, it’s a place. An altitude. A family. A village on the side of a mountain. Future shipments arrive regularly so you can enjoy fresh coffee all year — and a share of every adoption goes to the village school fund.
Yes — you’re welcome to visit our partner fincas in Colombia. The trees you adopt live on the Coffee Verse map, so there’s no numbered post in a field with your name on it — but the partner farms are real, and they’re open to you. You’ll meet the growers, walk the rows, and see the village your adoption supports. Contact us to arrange a visit during harvest season.
Three things. First, every batch is single-origin — not a blend of cheap commodity beans. Each shipment comes from one Colombian region, so you taste the actual place. Second, every batch is roasted to order in small batches and dated, so it reaches you fresh, never sitting on a shelf. Third, your bag comes with a story — and a school. A share of every adoption funds classrooms in the villages that grow it.
Your first shipment goes out shortly after adoption. Subsequent deliveries follow a regular schedule, and most orders arrive within about a week depending on your location. Packaging is designed to protect freshness and aroma in transit.
Yes — add your own text to the label, whether it’s your name or a gift message. The customization tool lets you preview the design before placing your order.
Adoptions renew annually, but you’re always in control and can cancel before renewal. We’ll notify you ahead of time so you can decide whether to continue.
